Who we are
This website, pantechautomation.com, is run by Pantech Automation, a Singapore-based IT and automation business owned by Colter Pan. We handle personal data in line with Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA).
Our data protection contact is Colter Pan, reachable at pancolter@gmail.com.
What we collect
If you create an account
- Your name, email address, and optionally your phone number and company.
- Your password, stored only as a salted, one-way hash. We can’t see or recover your password.
- If you sign in with Google or Facebook: your name, email address and an account ID from that service. We don’t receive your Google or Facebook password.
- Whether you’ve confirmed your email address, and when you joined.
If you send us a message
- The name, email, phone, company, subject and message you enter in the contact form, and whether you were logged in.
If you use the chatbot
- Your questions are sent to Cloudflare’s AI service to generate an answer. We don’t store chatbot conversations.
- Your browser keeps a daily count of chatbot questions, so we can apply a fair-use limit. It stays on your device.
To protect the site
- To stop spam and password guessing, we count requests from each visitor. We store a scrambled (hashed) form of your IP address for this, not the address itself, and the counts reset within a day.
- On some forms, Cloudflare Turnstile checks that you’re not a bot.
We don’t use advertising or analytics trackers.
Why we use it
- To run your account and keep you logged in.
- To reply to your enquiries and provide quotes or services you ask for.
- To send account emails you need: confirming your email address and resetting your password.
- To keep the site secure and prevent abuse.
We use your data only for these purposes, with your consent given when you create an account or send a message. We don’t sell it, and we don’t send marketing emails.
Cookies
We use only the cookies the site needs to work:
- pa_session keeps you logged in, for up to 30 days or until you log out.
- pa_oauth_state protects Google or Facebook sign-in, for up to 10 minutes.
Who processes it for us
- Cloudflare hosts the website and database, runs the chatbot’s AI and the Turnstile check.
- Resend delivers our emails (account emails, and our copy of contact messages).
- Google serves the website’s fonts, and handles sign-in if you choose “Continue with Google”.
- Facebook (Meta) handles sign-in if you choose “Continue with Facebook”.
These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy terms.
Where it’s stored
Our database is hosted by Cloudflare in its Asia-Pacific region. Some of our providers may process data outside Singapore. Where that happens, we rely on providers that protect personal data to a standard comparable to the PDPA.
How long we keep it
- Account details: while your account exists. Ask us and we’ll delete it.
- Messages: as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and keep a record of it, or until you ask us to delete them.
- Email confirmation links expire after 24 hours; password reset links after 30 minutes.
How we protect it
- All traffic is encrypted with HTTPS.
- Passwords are hashed with a unique salt and a secret key, and are never stored in readable form.
- Login sessions use secure, HTTP-only cookies, and only a hash of each session token is stored.
- Only the site owner can see messages and account lists.
Your rights
Under the PDPA you can ask us to:
- tell you what personal data we hold about you and how it has been used;
- correct data that’s wrong (you can also edit your details on your account page);
- stop using your data by withdrawing your consent, and delete your account and messages.
Email pancolter@gmail.com from the address on your account. We’ll reply as soon as we reasonably can, normally within 30 days.
Our Offline Tools app
The free Offline Tools desktop app makes no network connections and collects no data. Files you open in it never leave your computer.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal data, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
